For the uninitiated, Linux is a Unix-like operating system which
has been developed to run on IBM PC compatible machines. It is a stable fully
32-bit operating system which performs true multitasking and will run on as
little as an 80386 with 4 MB of RAM and 30 MB or so of disk. Linux
supports TCP/IP networking and runs X-windows. Finally, it is FREE
making it more and more attractive as an alternative to Win '95 or Windows NT.

- Runs Linux and Openwin *almost* all the time
- Hooked to the A&M 10base-2 ethernet

- 486/66 w/ 48MG, 500MB Linux Disk
- Runs Linux always
- Hooked to the A&M 10base-2 ethernet
regor
- 233 MHz PentiumII w/ 64 MB RAM, 2GB Linux Disk
- Dual Boot to Lose95
keystone.roger.net
- An IBM PS/2 Model-70 w/ 6MB, 105 MB Linux Disk
- Runs Linux exclusively and serves as gateway, router, and dns for other
hosts on my 10Base-2 ethernet at home
- Defies the laws of nature by running Linux on an MCA-bus with ESDI drives!
oe800.roger.net
- Pentium 100 MHz w/ 16MB, 500 MB Linux Disk
- Dual boot with Win 3.1
- Networked via 10Base-2 ethernet and capable of direct dial-in
or gateway routing access (via maxwell.roger.net) to the internet

works quite well for simple editing and resaving. (but not printing)
- Many thanks to Chris Beauregard for posting some great MCA kernel hacks

- If you want to run your X-windows applications remotely under MS-Windows, I have had
luck with XWin32,
although it is a little slow - especially over the modem.
